Where are your servers located and what is the infrastructure?
All the SMIS servers are located in Databarn - Amsterdam, Netherlands, a part of Europe's best broadband infrastructure. The data center is very safe and in accordance with the Telecommunications Centers standards. All the servers in the data center are connected to 2 power supply, Uninterruptible Power Supply and diesel generators.
How are the servers connected?
Our servers have a 100Mbit (1 GBit NIC) uplink connected to a backbone with a gigabit connection that is connected to the Internet.
What is the uptime of your servers?
Based on historical facts, our servers and their current feeding 99.9% of the time online. SMIS is doing its utmost to ensure that our servers have the best hardware and software to address the risk of downtime to a minimum.
To what extent are your servers 'monitored'?
We monitor our servers very closely and keep histories of all types of traffic, patterns, any kind of port scanning and e-mail spamming. Offenses against our terms and conditions you can find the bottom of the website will result in an immediate suspension of your account.
What happens if I forget my username and password?
We do not know your password. Therefore, we will manually verify your identity in order to create a new password. This may take some time and we recommend that you keep your username and password in a safe place.
Has SMIS access to my files in my account?
No. Since we do not have your password, we can not access your files in your account. We however, closely monitored for violations against our terms and conditions to be identified. If we receive complaints we will however investigate.
What is the minimum contract length?
The minimum contract length is 1 year unless otherwise agreed. Terminate your contract has to be done 3 months before the expiry date by notification.
Can I compile a package?
No. This is not possible.
Is adult content allowed on your servers?
No. Although erotic content is allowed, pornographic content is prohibited.
Can I use SSH?
Yes, only on request and provided reasons.
Is there any form of advertising on my web space?
No. In contrast to free webhosting is our hosting complete advertising free.
What are the payment options?
We accept payments by bank transfer and PayPal. Via PayPal, we offer you the possibility to pay with Visa or MasterCard.
How can I reach you in case of emergency?
This can by telephone (+32) 0472/374.858. SMIS kindly asked not abuse this. By abuse cost extra to pay.
Is there a domain name included in my hosting package?
Yes. Each hosting package has 1 free .be domain name. Other domain names cost extra.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes, it can if the payment has not yet happened and within a period of 7 days after placing the order. After this period, the cancellation of an order is no longer possible.

Can I connect a domain via domain name servers?
Yes, it can if you have the name servers of the domain name change to those of us:

Ja, een transfer kan indien u de huidig eigenaar bent van die domeinnaam en de licentiegegevens correct zijn. In sommige gevallen hebt u ook een transfercode nodig.
Welke gegevens hebben jullie nodig voor een registratie?
De enige gegevens voor de registratie van een domeinnaam zijn:
Voornaam, Familienaam, Firmanaam (indien van toepassing), Adres, Postcode, Gemeente, Telefoonnummer en E-mailadres.
Wat is de minimum registratieperiode?
De minimum registratieperiode is 1 jaar.
Kan ik meerdere domeinnamen hebben voor mijn website?
Ja, dit kan via pointers. Op ieder hostingpakket heb je dit namelijk onbeperkt.
